Pattiz using government money as a stalking horse for (his own?) 
commercial broadcast operations in the Mideast, is all.  VOA 
accomplished far more--and had a better reputation for integrity--on a 
greatly restricted budget for many years.  Had it ever had the 
advantage of this kind of grandiose funding and "hands-off" 
congressional attitude, one can only imagine the results.

Reinventing the wheel.  And this wheel has no charter guaranteeing 
journalistic integrity, that's the key.
