Hello,
Well it is that time again. I will be hitting the road tommorrow to
avoid the weather and to see if Philly has a Passport LTR system on VHF.
I went to Costco and got two cases of soda as a donation to the Fest.
It is good I got a new bigger car last fall as the cases are now 32
cans. I doubt they would fit in my old car with all the other stuff I
bring. :) The car gets slightly better gas mileage and has a bigger gas
tank. No more looking for gasoline in the rural NJ region of Franklin
Lakes! I will likely need 4 cans from each case for the trip so count
on 56 cans for the tiny tots.
I should be available to help set up the hospitality room thursday. It
is around 2 PM right? Give me a call in my room.
I thought I had alot of radio equipment until I saw these pictures.

You may recognize the name. I am starting to reorganize my shack using
some of the pictures on radioreference.com for ideas. I am debating on
bringing some of my old stuff for sale. I very rarely sell anything.
I have not gotten the courage up to drill a hole in my new car (esp.
after the job I did on my old car) so it is just a mag mount XM and mag
mount scanner antenna for now. Even with the bigger interior I have not
figured out where to put everything yet. At least I can listen to BBC
on XM but I miss 5975 and 6175. I have been playing with loops for LW
and it works good for the lower SW bands. I picked up BBC South
American service on 5975 but it is not the same. Not like when R.
Australia ended North American service in name only. I can still pick
up 9580 mornings on the filling in the lower left second molar.
A lot of little things to do to get ready. I spent the weekend entering
the 2,507 frequencies that Montgomery Co uses for public safety in UASD :).

Actually I like listening to SEPTA and aircraft more, so I included
those as well. I was thinking of taking the train down but will likely
do that on a later trip to Baltimore. I want to see how the new car
does on a long drive.
Looking forward to seeing everyone at the fest and have a safe journey.
73 Eric
