Although last year was my first year at the fest, you will be missed.

Don't we have any techno-geeks in our group that can send you, on instant
messaging, live audio/video of some of our events to your home PC?  Just a
thought.

Hello, everyone. It really bums me out to report that
after 16 consecutive years of attending the Winter SWL
Festival, only having missed the historic first event
in Willow Grove, PA, I will not be attending this
year's Festival due to doctor's orders.

A few weeks back, it was discovered that I had some
slight damage to the internal left carotid artery.
Sounds pretty scary and, believe me, it was, and it
could have been a whole lot worse.

Fortunately, everything is coming along well, but the
recovery period is quite long, about a month or so,
and I am restricted from doing a lot of my normal
activities until the healing is complete.

As a result, I have been told that it would not be
wise to make the 8 to 9 hour drive to Kulpsville this
year.  Needless to say, I was very disappointed to get
this news.  Winterfest is certainly one of the
highlights of the year for me, and missing out after
16 years makes it even more disappointing.

This also means that Alan Roberts, my usual travelling
partner for the trip will not be attending either.

We'll be missing everyone's company, for sure, and
I'll be following all the news and information from
the Fest in this group and through other sources.

I wish everyone a great Winterfest and look forward to
seeing everyone again next year.
