[IRCA] TP 19 Aug Victoria version

Asian again to start, but erratic fading meant not much audio was heard. A DU boost occurred around 1300UT with one likely new one on 1458.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

not today

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

612 4QR ABC news //702 1302UT
1566 HLAZ woman in Japanese 1238UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

702 2BL man mentioning ABC news 1301UT, //612
774 3LO man in DU English 1311UT //828
828 3GI quite weak but clear man in DU English //774
972 HLCA woman in Korean, man on phone, briefly fair at 1218UT
1053 Korean jammer 1205UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

576 man mumbling in a DU English sort of way? 1256UT, dead by 1300UT of course
594 woman talking, Japanese inflection 1232UT
738 pop music 1137UT
774 man talking Japanese inflection 1138UT
828 man talking, Japanese inflection 1201UT, only a hint of a pip on the hour
891 man mumbling 1311UT

1458 (t) RNZ National. woman talking, then island sounding vocal music 1313-4UT. When 1458 was up, 756 was mostly down, and vice versa, but 756 also had island vocals when it did fade up to a similarly weak signal. Couldn't easily find an archive for the All Night Programme of RNZ National which is the only one that made sense to me. Any suggestions?

1503 man talking, DU English? 1304UT
1566 man in Chinese? 1216UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

567 621 747 864 909 954 1098 1116 1134 1179 1242 1323 1386 1548 1575

best wishes,

Nick
