[IRCA] 2" FSL Tecsun PL-380 TP-DX for 3-25 (Preliminary)

A new, lightweight 2" version of the FSL-enhanced Tecsun PL-380 was tested out here this morning, using 5 of the 100mm ferrite bars instead of the 8-bar 3" FSL version. The two different models were directly compared in receiving TP-DX (which was plentiful), and there was noÂobservable difference in their TP-DX reception strength.

A blistering signal from 1575-VOA in Thailand from 1335-1355 was the highlight of the morning, with S9+ peaks even on the "Baby" 2" FSL Tecsun PL-380 model. A picture of this new model receiving 1575-VOA at 1341 is posted at https://app.box.com/s/7wwa1oqxms3oc1obo7dm9jlj0iqbxg6c

An MP3 ofÂthe awesome VOA-Thailand signal on the "Science Fiction Lite" model at 1341 UTC is posted at https://app.box.com/s/0yd9vd7hdv336uu9sgtzbugeynyfmaw7 ÂÂ Besides this there was another new country received on the stand-alone FSL-PL-380 models, with reception of 738-BEL2 (Taiwan) around 1335. More details and MP3's will follow.
