[IRCA] TP 14 Mar Victoria version
The low band wasn't quite as poor as Bruce found, though it is true
that the NHK2 big guns were better around 1200UT. And yes, there
was a pip heard on 1467 at 1400UT here, but nothing else to hang
one's hat on. Generally, there wasn't anything that was consistently
strong, but JOJK-1224 and RRI-1377 are not to be sneezed at.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):
1386 The NHK2 Big Gun at this time, if only briefly, 1354UT, Chinese lessons
Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it
understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
738 female vocal pop music 1334UT, but faded before any talk was
heard; assumed Tahiti. Taiwan had a lady in Chinese at this time
per the web archive.
1566 HLAZ man in Chinese 1407UT
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be understood by a native speaker:
558 HLQH slow male vocal 1403UT, //very weak 603
594 JOAK man in Japanese 1354UT
828 JOBB Chinese lessons 1350UT
1422 JORF woman and man in Japanese after rhythmic music
1503 JOUK man talking //594 1403UT
1593 CNR1 man in Chinese 1418UT; IDd earlier //6125 when not as strong
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be
guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in
talk or music)
531 unID. Man talking 1406UT, very weak, but not //594
567 JOIK woman talking //594 1355UT
873 JOGB man talking //774 1334UT
972 oriental singing by woman 1322UT; man talking a couple minutes
later, maybe Korean?
1224 JOJK, man talking //594 1350UT
1242 woman talking, possibly Japanese, though not sure 1407UT;
followed by rock music, so possibly JOLF
1377 RRI. traces of man talking, woman also, 1410UT, over to music
1412UT, preceding web stream by about one minute
Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or
ravaged by splatter)
1134 1314 1359 1458 1467 1512
best wishes,
Nick
