Although I think this is a shame. However, this has been going on since the 1970s where more and more stations are allowed on clear channel frequencies and the long distance reception is getting harder and harder. This is no surprise. The FCC is changing the whole spectrum. They are repacking the TV dial and selling frequencies to the cel phone industry, so TV markets will be forced to cram more channels into a smaller area. It used to be back in the 60s, a person could easily listen to stations coast to coast with a clock radio. Today, hearing a station a 1000 miles away takes some effort. But we do have streaming in today's World and I use that a lot with my wifi radio.
