Re: [IRCA] Wellbrook Large Aperture Loop Antenna ALA100LN

Paul,

Reading the blogs from Steve now. Glad to hear from someone else who switched from a Flag to this loopâthatâs my situation here. My primary interest is in logging new domestic stations from the Western states. While this antenna wonât be as directional as the flag, I think Iâll be happier with signal levels.

Iâve been using a pre-amp with the flag, and even with that, signal levels can be very low. Especially if Iâm using the Flag as an input to the Quantum Phaser, and nulling a pest.

You end up with a nice, deep null, but the remaining signal is so low that it can be nearly impossible to pull out an ID.

Wellbrook Communications reports that theyâre busy filling in orders, so my new antenna amp wonât ship until the middle of the monthâbut I can be patient. Happy to hear that business is good for Andyâhe makes great stuff.
