Re: [IRCA] 820-KGNW on 1140???

Nothing of that sort on 1140 here now Brian. If a Seattle generated spur, it's gone now..

best wishes,

HI all,

I'm going through some SDR recordings from the long weekend and have run
across something I can't explain. With my Superloop pointed
south-southeast at the 10pm MST TOH on the 16th, I faintly but clearly
heard the KGNW legal ID on 1140 kHz, preceded by an ad for sister station
KKOL, and followed by "a service of Salem Media Group", and appropriate
religious programming for KGNW. However, I have no idea why this station
would appear on 1140. It was mixed with XEMR, which gave their call
letters few minutes after KGNW.

KGNW was not heard on 820, with WBAP well on top of that freq and a
presumed Mexican station below. It's not out of the question for me to get
stations off the back end of the antenna. But, other than the regional
powerhouses, the dial is dominated by Mexicans in this direction (in fact I
logged two new XE's during that TOH period). I'm stumped; any thoughts??
