He was an excellent newsreader, but I haven't heard him in a long time--didn't know he was still active at ABC radio. I used to chuckle at his rather emphatic way of pronouncing his name, especially during his final newscast outcue:
"For the ABC Information Network... I'm DOUG LIMERICK!!!" (sounding like he was shouting his name through clenched teeth)
It's okay, dude, chill, we know who you are, message received...
