[IRCA] TP 30 Sep Victoria version

That turned out to be quite a wild ride. Lots of domestic splash, and lots of DX....just exhausting going through it all, and I'm sure there were things that I missed, as many signals faded up and down quite quickly. Stand back....

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

567 JOIK man in Japanese //594, briefly at this level 1358UT mentions of Hokkaido
594 JOAK man in Japanese 1349UT and many other times
774 JOUB Chinese lessons 1359UT
828 JOBB man in Japanese 1321UT
972 HLCA man in Korean 1344UT
1017 CRI man in Korean, a blast of music, then woman in Korean; same strength at 1020 stations at 1323UT, peaking at 1325UT with man and woman talking
1053 Korean jammer 1339UT
1287 JOHR peaked briefly at 1346UT with man in Japanese, "HBC Radyo" ID as it started to fade again 1566 HLAZ man in Japanese 1339UT; Chinese program was pretty good at times after 1345UT as well

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

954 JOKR man in Japanese 1352UT
1242 JOLF woman in Japanese 1350UT
1323 CRI woman in Russian 1310UT
1593 CNR1 woman in Chinese 1356UT, ID'd by various parallels over previous few minutes

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

693 JOAB mostly being beaten up by CBU splat, but definitely woman in Japanese 1331UT 738 Taiwan Fisheries, piano music1359UT seemed //1143 1359UT; at least one other station there too
891 JOHK man in Japanese //594
945 CNR1 man in Chinese 1317UT, maybe a woman in Chinese at lower level. ID'd with // 1593 at 1354UT
1134 JOQR woman and man in Japanese
1332 pop ballad, likely Japan?
1575 VoA man in SE Asian language

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

864 man talking 1341UT, too much splash to figure it out
918 woman talking 1351, couldn't guess at language
1008 man and woman in what sounded like Japanese
1035 woman and man talking 1310UT, Chinese? no parallels available
1098 man talking, Chinese inflection 1343UT
1044 female vocal 1337UT
1251 CNR1 woman and man talking 1348UT //1593, slight offset
1314 ballad 1337UT
1377 CNR1 woman in Chinese //1593 1354UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

756 873 963 1107 1116 1206 1269 1278 1422

best wishes,

Nick
