[IRCA] TP 17 Sep Victoria version

A little more Asian this morning, with one surprise.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

594 JOAK man and woman saying "konbonwa" to each other 1333UT, matching and exceeding domestics on 590kHz in strength
774 JOUB two women in Japanese 1321UT //828
828 JOBB man in Japanese 1158UT, through to pips and start of English lessons
1053 Korean jammer 1330UT
1566 HLAZ. woman in Japanese 1235UT, then choral music; several fine peaks during that program. Signal had been quite strong for the Chinese program at 1224UT with man in Chinese, and also briefly fair for the next Chinese program at 1350UT

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

747 JOIB man in Japanese //774 1316UT
1242 JOLF woman in Japanese 1328UT
1287 JOHR man in woman in Japanese 1335UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

891 JOHK woman in Japanese //594 1339UT
918 unID. man talking in Japanese, rock music 1332UT
954 JOKR man in Japanese talking to another man on the phone 1332UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

567 JOIK man talking, sounding Japanese and //594 which was also quite weak at 1323UT 846 unID and NHK1. man talking 1329UT, not //594, but by 1330UT, another man was talking //594
612 woman and man talking 1321UT, odd man out, as sounded like DU English
1008 man talking, Japanese inflection? 1314UT, soon faded
1044 man talking 1315UT, briefly poor, maybe CRI?
1134 man talking 1334UT, seemed Japanese; earlier there had been a mix of music and a man talking; hard to keep things straight in the 1130 splash
1143 unID woman tlaking 1324UT; pop music 1331UT
1386 NHK2 interlude music, then woman talking 1330UT //774

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

738 873 963 1098 1179 1251 1314 1422

best wishes,

Nick
