My personal preference is to avoid those 10 turn pots. They aren't needed if you don't require a wide range, and I don't have any use for resistances below 700 and above 1200. Therefore, I use a 470 Ohm resistor in series with a 500 Ohm pot. It still requires a careful adjustment but is not hard. Some might even want 680 Ohms and a 250 Ohm pot.
