[IRCA] September 13 - 2015 - TP/DU in Victoria B.C. Canada

In contrast to some reports from my peers, today actually seemed better
than yesterday - that said, I did start later and stay later so I took
advantage of a big pre-dawn bump.
Loaded up some You-Tube videos -- links coming up below.

Highlights - a solid steady signal from AM-940 in Honolulu.

Listening period from 1312 until 1400 UTC

Receivers: Drake R8 and AOR 7030+ / Antennas N/NW Flag and Wellbrook ALA100M

1315 UTC - 567 Khz OM Chat lo-modulation / seemed English - not positive

1316 UTC - 594 Khz Japan - welcomed back with back and forth sedate OM and
excited YL as if she just opened a surprise gift - armchair copy by 1325
UTC with a snippet from Led Zeppelin... https://youtu.be/dZ0BOyp4lbE

1318 UTC - 747 and 774 Japan - 774 seemed to win this signal battle with
747 subject to the signal from 730 Vancouver (which renders 738 pretty much
useless...)

1319 UTC - 801 UNid - soft ballad almost completely in the clear on the
N/NW Flag

1320 UTC - 891 Convo in mumbling unid lang

1321 UTC - 909 EE Conversation briefly

1323 UTC - 972 - Assume Korea with very dramatic music...

1324 UTC - 1053 - Jammer at solid levels

1329 UTC - 612 - 4QR at good levels but raising to arm-chair at 1335 UTC

1331 UTC - 1575 - Thailand/AFN (t) 2 very big signals duking it out w/ low
SAH - Cambodian style
language ultimately taking over - rising to armchair level at 1334

1332 UTC - 1566 - Assume Korea with the Gregorian style chants
(underperformed relative to 1575 which was surprising)

1335 UTC - 675 - OM Lang serious talk at fair levels but dogged by QRM

1340 UTC - 940 - KKNE Honolulu - All alone on channel with traditional
Hawaiian music "All traditional Hawaiian all the time.... AM 940...." and
frequent mentions of Honolulu - first HI station for me in years - thanks
to Walter Salmaniw for tip!
Audible almost up to the hour. https://youtu.be/7XFVTK5pBBs

1355 - 1359 UTC - 612 - 4QR Australia - the final signal on the DU Dial
this AM
