[IRCA] CBC Radio One Reception

Not on 690.. but 6160khz! With 1kw of directional power beaming at 315
degrees, it's not exactly going in my direction, so a decent catch overall
from my location in Redding, California, USA using a Sangean ATS909X and
H-800 skymatch Active Antenna.

I've heard programming on 6160khz before but the signal was never very
good, barely above the noise floor and the mush on the channel. On May
20th, 2015 at 330am pacific, the signal was very good.. Id say a 6 out of
10 with not too much fading or interference.

After recording it for several minutes, I was able to bring up the CBC
Vancouver webstream and match it to what I heard on 6160khz.

I post what i post because I like to share my accomplishments. I also love
radio and want to share my love and passion for radio broadcasting, wether
it be Dxing or other non DXing related discussion topics.

I am often inspired by an email I read from someone about a new, far flung
station they logged to go and try and log it myself.

I want to inspire someone to try and log something new or share my other
radio passion with others.
In fact, it was a friends email to me late one night that he was hearing
SIBC 9545 Solomon Islands that caused me to run to my radio and finally get
listenable audio from them after a year of trying and not even getting a
carrier!!
