I heard them at sunset October 1, 1973. Never was sure of the city's pronunciation, since Webster's Geographical Dictionary didn't have an entry for Calera. Thanks to various YouTube postings from Alabama, I now know it's Kuh Leer Uh.
They're one of all too many 1370 "Fallen Flags" - anybody remember these, all listed in the 1991 NRC AM Radio Log?
Marksville LA
Leonardtown MD
South St. Paul MN
Elloree-Santee SC
Post TX
Sussex WI
Wickford RI
Holdenville OK
Deer Trail CO
Albia IA
Calera AL
1991 Log also lists Westlock AB, Parksville BC, Degelis QC and Valleyfield QC, all presumably gone to FM.
Multiply this by the whole dial, and it's pretty grim.
