[IRCA] TP 15 Mar Victoria version

An interesting morning, though not as "powerful" and varied as yesterday, but some of the variation went towards the Philippines, and Indonesia???? (1377), and as on other relatively poorer mornings, HLAZ just went on and on after sunrise.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

594 JOAK various times
747 JOIB man in JJ //774, 1407UT
774 and 828 many times from 1230 to after 1400UT, 774 the most often
972 HLCA two men in KK 1236UT
1017 CRI woman and man in KK 1404UT; ID'd at weaker strength my music leading up to chimes and fanfare at 1400UT, which were barely heard, though the music was quite strong 1566 HLAZ the last strong peak was at 1608UT rock mx (!), and man in KK, briefly better than 1560 at this time. Choral mx at 1615UT was pretty good, but after that, it was mostly carrier, though with audio traces as late at 1636UT (oh yes, FEBC ID at 1600UT in case there was any doubt)

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

558 HLQH man in KK w?erratic fading 1403UT; ID later by //603
567 JOIK man in JJ //594 1408UT
693 JOAB man in JJ 1316UT //774; CBU's flute mx didn't have many sidebands just then
963 CRI man in RR 1415UT, //1323 a few minutes later
1053 KK jammer 1303UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

603 HLSA deep voiced man 1413UT //558
702 NHK2 man in JJ //774 1249UT
945 CNR1 vocal pop mx 1254UT; ID'd //981 a minute before
981 CNR1 vocal pop mx 1311UT; man and woman in CC 1406UT
1287 JOHR man and woman in JJ 1324 and 1422UT; noted as late at 1543UT w/rock mx 1314 Philippines? choral singing 1407 faded up to quiet male preacher 1408UT, sounded Tagalog to my untrained ear?
1422 JORF man in JJ 1354UT
1503 JOUK NHK1 theme mx 1410UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

666 JOBK laid back vocal mx //594 1246UT
873 jazzy piano not //774 at 1337UT; didn't sound North Korean, unlike the opera singing heard at 1402UT o/u JOGB
891 man talking 1408UT, sounded KK, and definitely not //594
1323 CRI man talking //963 1422UT
1377 man talking quietly, definitely not CNR or NHK, 1416-1420UT Heard Indonesia here last year around this time, so went to RRI webpage, and there should be a stream for Toli Toli, but it doesn't work. Station had faded by then anyway.

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

621 657 756 855 864 882 918 1026 1035 1089 1098 1143 1251 1269 1593

best wishes,

Nick
