Actually, it wasn’t THAT bad. Japan on 1422 and 1332 are still coming in while I’m backing up files to an external HD.
Earlier, around 1430utc, I had - during a rare bout of ‘live’ listening - Sonshine Radio on 1026, DZAR from the Philippines.
And a timely query from Chuck Hutton caused me to question why I’ve been using the 10dB attenuation on a lot of Perseus recordings here at Grayland and other locations I’ve used the Wellbrook FLG100LN units.
More on that later …

This miserable group was soon joined by 603-HLSA (also poor), 1134 (apparently KBS, but too weak to be sure) and 1503-JOUK (poor) around 1445, at which time it seemed like the band might finally have some potential. Unfortunately that was the high point of the morning, as the entire anemic collection started to plunge into the noise. By 1505 there were only a few gasps left from 594-JOAK and 693-JOAB-- the last Asians to bite the dust on a lackluster morning. Best signals of the session were only fair (and of very short duration) from 594 around 1443 and 693 around 1435. If Bill was trying any live DX at Grayland this morning, he had a good excuse to cut it short and head for the Blue Bouy.
