Re: [IRCA] [NRC-AM] 1485 Diego Garcia
Paul,
I picked up this station on April 22nd 1979 while living in Australia.
I was on a DX-pedition to Port MacDonnel in South Australia right on the
coast. There were three of us on this trip Sam Dellit, Harry Weatherley and
myself listening on our Drake SPR-4's in those days with 600 metres beverage
to Africa.
That same morning we also logged 746 Voice of Kenya, 1368 Radio Seychelles,
and Radio Vatican 1530, plus a lot of other Asians and African station.
I have a recording some place on my tapes, will need to dig it up!
Thanks for the memories!!

I'm not sure many ever picked this up, it was only about 250 watts or so..
but the tower for the station has been dismantled.. for good..
which means no more, and I don't think it's coming back
