Re: [IRCA] w807 confirmed

Saul,

Nice catch from your location. W807 " Geo Research Rock Radio" claims 30 watts output from a Cunningham transmitter. They have been operating mostly full time on 1710 for at least a couple of years now and are heard frequently here fading in and out at night. I'm surprised other DXers aren't hearing W807 as the station obviously "gets out" very good at times.

More info on W807 here: https://www.facebook.com/W807

Hmm let me see if I can hear this and I'll report back. Nothing here 35 miles NW of Chicago but I may be close enough that it skips over me but groundwave can't make it.

Antioch is a legal part 15 I think. I haven't had it here and it wasn't on last time I drove thru there a couple months ago. It is online.

The operator on 1710 has been talking about the school system for well over an hour. Does that sound like W807?

Antioch is a very very very far north exurb from Chicago - it's not a pirate station, it's a Part 15 station. Really comprehensive OTR programming. See ABN (Antioch broadcasting network) and macinmind.com.
If anyone can pick up a Part 15 from 100 miles or more, mazl tov - I can't imagine it! Tim, I know you're a real wizard, but...

This fits some of the content that I've heard from the 1710 pirate
"W807" in Chicago.

Seems much weaker than undercover radio usually used, and Antioch Chicago pirate stream is old drama
