Re: [IRCA] [ABDX] WBOK 1230 New Orleans logged in IL tonight

Congrats Kaz - nice going!

My furthest GY log to date occurred on March 12th, 2012 with a nice ID from KANE New Iberia, LA. during au cx. The distance calculates to 961 miles - just shy of that magic 1,000 mile mark I keep hoping to break someday. It was really neat to hear that ID come through the noise followed by zydeco music! We normally don't hear zydeco on the dial up here :-)

Well I am happy that yesterday I finally finished fixing up my south DKAZ antenna. Today's 6 pm CST recording has a couple minutes of WBOK basically atop 1230! There's a Bayou Classic report and local ads and a city of New Orleans ment by an accented gal. At about 840 miles this is my second most distant GY from here in the midwest.

WWWL was blasting in on 1350 at the time but I don't need them.

Also new tonight in the GY's but at 7 pm was KZNG 1340 AR and WWKU 1450 KY.

Maybe further listening to the 6 pm recording can turn up some others.
