Re: [IRCA] [NRC-AM] 1390 WSPO Charleston, SC DX Test imminent
Easy copy on the car radio (All DX antennas are currently down for
summer repairs. Yes, I'm behind schedule!) Just outside of Birmingham,
AL in Central, Alabama. Recorded it on my smartphone, while driving to
Taco Bell for a late dinner.
Test began with a male announcer, indicating a special "Worldwide Test"
for AM DX listeners. Nice touch. The callsign in slow Morse Code,
followed by lots of sweep tones, a telephone off-hook sounder, then a
game show instrumental theme (Matchgame? Password?), followed by a
firebell/alarm sound effect....then repeated the entire test.
The game show music seemed longer than normal. Possibly looped?
Great test, and fun to listen to! Thanks to JD Stephens of Hampton Cove,
AL for arranging the test, Paul Walker, Jr. and WSPO Engineer Bruce
Roberts, KI4YST! Great start to the DX Season!
