Hi Guy,
Â
Well, the mystery noise on 648 and 747 has a greater "coverage area" than any of us ever imagined! Both frequencies are almost wiped out here 24/7, except when VOR and JOIB can really boom in to smash through the noise. I do know that the 648 and 747 mystery noise doesn't have enough range to make it to Rockwork or Cape Perpetua, though :-)
Â
Although I've never heard your 594 or 693 noise, IÂdo haveÂintermittent noise issues on 945 and 1044.ÂDuring this lackluster TP-DXing seasonÂthe mystery noiseÂdoesn't really help matters.

Interesting! I've been hearing buzzing on the same TPs as Gary and Bruce,
in addition to 594 and 693 which have had the strongest accompanying buzz
QRM. I thought it was just some local (neighborhood) interference.
I can knock down almost all of the buzz using the noise blanker in SDR
programs, but the exact setting is very touchy. Even a bit too blanking
action much causes severe audio distortion. When it works correctly the
noise is completely removed; you have to readjust for different frequencies
as you tune around, though.
