[IRCA] AUSTRALIAN DX

I recently attended a Rotary convention in Sydney. A couple of months ago, I had printed out a copy of the PAL - but could not find it the day before I left and didn't have time to re-print it. Along with Sydney, we went to Melbourne, Ayers Rock (Uluru) and Port Douglas (about 35 minutes north of Cairns).

I would LOVE to report oodles of strange and exotic catches but the hotels were noisy and the tours were long, and more often than not, we were dragging. The only thing I can report (other than the obvious domestics) was an apparent Indonesian on 810. This was heard in both Uluru and Port Douglas so one of those listed in PAL has a bit of oomph. I did not hear an actual ID, but there was something I heard one night at about :58 which consisted of a dog barking and Indonesian-type gongs. This went on for two minutes.

Other than that, we had a sensational time in Sydney ("Vivid" was taking place); saw the evening arrival of the penguins; rode camels in the shadow of Ayers Rock and went snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef. The peeps were friendly, we had amazing weather (5/24-6/17) and I would go back in a flash.

One other DX item. Wikipedia does have a list of Aussie stations but it is outdated. Also, any readers out there who can provide me with the source of a reasonably accurate list of Aussie FM stations? Thanks.
