Re: [IRCA] QRM from Lights

Hi Steve,

Your question about a "noiseless" light dimmer jogged an old memory for me.

In one of the first editions of Fine Tuning's "Proceedings" books that I
helped edit, we had a short piece on this subject in a "Tips and
Techniques" article.

John Bryant recommended a Nutone model DC-35 dimmer, sold as a "suppressed
RF" light switch & dimmer for incandescent lamps only. He said it worked
like a charm, with no QRM even using a portable radio up close to the
switch.

John quoted the cost as $30 in 1989... likely quite a bit more now. David
Clark added that if you can't find this particular model, look for dimmers
sold as "studio quality".
