Hello All,
As Dennis and Bruce have already reported the band didn't have very many vibrant Asians this morning, with only the high band big guns 1566-HLAZ and 1575-VOA having any real energy (both around 1330). The 1215 frequency here is completely wiped out by a nonstop Spanish pest on 1210, which makes it impossible to try for the Philippines (like Dennis and Bruce), Absolute Radio or anything else.
Besides the usual Japanese on 594, 693 and 774 (at only fair levels here, from 1315-1335) there was a weak, wispy carrier on 603 around 1330, which I presumed was HLSA. The carrier strength was at a level that would have been hopeless with the previous versions of the FSL antenna used here, but the new 15" DXpedition model was able to dig out some weak Chinese audio on the frequency, which was quite a surprise (given the carrier level). Other than that the morning was pretty forgettable, with the Asian propagation obviously in a rather depressed state.
603 China (Hulun Buir?) Antenna testing--
digging out faint Chinese audio at 1330
from an extremely weak carrier; no HLSA on the freq.
