Quick question for those MWDX'ers who use "ultralight" or "pocket-sized" radios ... do any of you use the CC Pocket Radio that is marketed by the C. Crane company?
I frequently scan the signature blocks of the emails posted to the group reflectors to see what DX radios others are using. I can't recall seeing the CC Pocket Radio mentioned.
For those who haven't heard about this radio, here's the CCrane webpage link for the radio ...
http://www.ccrane.com/Radios/CC-Pocket-Radio-w-AMFMWX-55-Presets
It's approximately the same size and form-factor as the Sangean pocket radios (DT-400W and DT-200X). The CC Pocket radio has three MW selectable tuning steps, 9/10 kHz and 1 kHz, as well as two selectable AM filters, wide and narrow. The narrow filter is 2.5 kHz. I use this one almost exclusively.
It also has a selectable-duration sleep timer (up to 120 minutes) and a backlit dial.
Coupled with the CCrane Earbuds (the ones with a crisp frequency response for speech), the radio is a pretty awesome DX grabber for its size.
I was just wondering if any other MWDX'ers were using the radio and, if so, what their opinions/pros/cons were.
Thanks!!
