Hello All,
As Dennis reported, it was a very good morning for Asian TP's, with 738-BEL2 in Taiwan managing its best signal here since the start of the new year.
In total darkness around 1310 there was already some decent Asian propagation on the low band, producing 558-HLQH (fair), 594-JOAK (very good), 603-HLSA (fair), 657-Pyongyang (fair) and 738-BEL2 (fair). Around 1315 the signal from 738-BEL2 in Taiwan briefly came up to a good level-- its best audio since the Fall Season. Chinese from a presumed 936-Anhui was also in and out at a fair level around this time, while 972-HLCA hit a very good peak around 1320 with Korean female speech. Both 1044-CRI and 1134-KBS were also well above average this morning from 1330-1350, with CRI's Japanese program fair to good during peaks and 1134-KBS' Korean music and speech hitting good levels in and out of the Vancouver splatter. The high band didn't seem quite so impressive during this early period, with 1377-CNR1, 1503-JOUK, 1566-HLAZ and 1593-CNR1 only managing fair audio in and out of the domestic splatter until they received a moderate boost with increasing daylight around 1400. The signal!
from 603-HLSA (with its typical long-set Korean pop music, // 558) came up to a fair to good level around 1345, with a weak Chinese co-channel underneath occasionally (as reported by Dennis). Sunrise enhancement after 1400 didn't seem to do much for the low band Asians, although it did seem to provide a marginal boost to 1566-HLAZ and 1593-CNR1. Overall it was a very good morning for Asian TP strength and variety, especially during the predawn darkness from 1300-1350. Best signal of the morning was from 972-HLCA, which managed very good peaks during its variety program from 1320-1340.
