[IRCA] TP DX in Seattle on February 11

Today's TP DX was similar to yesterday's. There was almost nothing in the lower part of the dial except for pathetic signals from a couple of the high powered NHK stations. The upper part of the dial continued to offer a large assortment of weak signals and carriers. The high band would have provided some fun times today, if only the DX was stronger and the splash was weaker. Maybe tomorrow will be better....

Good - A native speaker would have been able to follow the discussion
1566 HLAZ, man & woman in Chinese 1501. Had been poor-nil until just before 1500, then signal got a huge boost

Fair - A native speaker might've recognized a few words here and there
972 HLCA, woman in Korean 1424
1422 JORF, cheerfully excited woman 1506
1602 NHK2, weak pips 1500, then JJ talk gradually improving, occasionally at fair level 1505-08

Poor - A native speaker would have wondered why he was trying to listen to what little was there
747 JOIB, 1435 woman //774
774 JOUB, weather report 1307
1242 faint talk 1504
1314 Excited talk 1503 too weak to tell if Japanese or Tagalog
1323 CRI, usual trumpet fanfare 1500, ID in Chinese by woman, presumably one in Russian as well but signal took a dive. In & out with weak bits of Russian talk after that
1413 bits of talk in heavy domestic splatter 1503
1503 very faint pips 1500
1557 pips 1500, then weak talk, probably Taiwan
1575 VOA, faint talk 1505

Carriers 594 693 828 1269 1278 1287 1332 1404 1386 1431 1476 1485 1494
