Hello All,
What seemed like a promising band at 1500 here didn't really manage much improvement during sunrise enhancement, and the low-band Asians failed to repeat their vibrant performance of yesterday. The high-band regulars did quite well, though, as 1566-HLAZ led the way at 1530 with excellent-level Chinese speech.
Around 1500 both 594-JOAK and 603-HLSA had fair audio in and out (like yesterday), and 603 had occasional female Chinese speech as well. Unlike yesterday, though, none of these signals received any boost around sunrise, and the other low-band Asian mainland stations on 639, 648 and 657 stayed in the noise. The high band Asians did receive a moderate sunrise boost around 1520, though, with 1503-JOUK (fair), 1566-HLAZ (excellent), 1575-VOA (good) and 1593-CNR1 (very good) hitting their peaks shortly afterwards. As usual these high-band regulars faded in and out in short cycles, unlike the slower-cycle fades on stations like 594-JOAK and 603-HLSA. The low-band signals bailed early around 1535, leaving only the usual high-band diehards of 1566-HLAZ and 1593-CNR1 with any Asian audio. 1593-CNR1 had a pretty impressive signal this morning around 1535 in the 1590-Seattle splatter, but nothing close to its legendary fade-in on January 18th. Overall the band was fairly average for mi!
d-winter, with the high band enjoying its normal propagation edge.
