It was a very interesting morning to say the least, taking me a couple
of hours to go through the SDR files. Taiwan-1557 was the winner today
in terms of signal stength. I also had good reception of DWXI-1314 and
China-1116, both quite rare around here. There were a few mystery logs
as well, especially the one on 1395 (see below).
Good - Much of it understandable by a native speaker, at least for brief
periods
774 JOUB, 1459 woman & flute music, 1500 pips, music, man with
program intro. Male monologue 1508-1513
1116 China, Female song 1459, 1500 distinctive music bit, "Zhongyang
Renmin Guangbo Dientai" ID, then faded up to nice level with talk (news?)
1314 DWXI, 1532 man in Tagalog, sounded like religious talk, weak
Japanese lady (JOUF) in background. By 1535 JOUF was about equal to
DWXI, and sometimes stronger
1557 TAIWAN, Music Interactive Network, 1430-1540 huge signal at
times with Chinese pops and occasional Chinese talk by woman. 1500 had
3+1 pips with someone else's pips in background,, then short anmts by
woman and man, either or both of which might've been IDs. Sometimes
stronger than 1550 domestics.
1566 HLAZ, best reception was at 1503 with discussion by men in
Chinese, sounded rather jovial
Fair - a native speaker could have understood a few words and phrases
594 JOAK, man in Japanese, pips 1500, then news
747 JOIB, man & woman in Japanese 1434
972 HLCA, discussion in Korean 1433-1449+
1098 Woman in language similar to Chinese 1519. Presumably CNR11 in
Tibetan.
1170 CNR1, stanndard theme mx, "Zhongyang Renmin Guangbo Dientai" ID
mixing w/KPUG 1500:40, then Chinese talk
1179 China, unid with 5+1 pips 1500, then various anmts in Chinese,
didn't hear an ID
1332 JOSF, woman in Japanese 1524
1395 Mystery deep voiced male ancr fair-poor 1509-1536 in unid
language. Didn't sound like Chinese or Japanese. May have had a couple
of phone conversation with listeners. Chinese-like pop song 1528.
1422 Unids, 1500 pop music, 3+1pips dominant o/much weaker 4 or 5
+1, Mostly Chinese woman and pop music mixing here until they faded out
~1540. There may have also been a few bits of JJ talk at times
1503 JOUK, man in JJ 1530
1575 VOA, not particularly strong today, best signal was at 1440 with
man & woman in Asian language
1593 CNR1, huge signal but was being mercilessly bashed by KLFE
splash 1502-1540
1602 NHK2, 3+1 pips 1500 but not much else. Better at 1504 w/JJ talk
Poor - better luck next time
603 Weak music 1541, presumably HLSA per Gary's reception at about the
same time. Best 603 reception of the season for me.
828 JOBB, woman in JJ 1442
981 CNR1, 1250 woman in Chinese in heavy CKNW splat
1125 Asian talk in bad 1120/1130 splatter 1521
1134 KBS or JOQR with talk in 1130/1140 splatter 1520
1161 Woman in Chinese or similar language 1529
1287 JOHR?, m&w in what sounded like Japanese 1524
1359 CNR1, very faint pips 1500 in KKMO splatter, possible theme
music 1500:40
1386 NHK2 woman in JJ 1530
1431 Pop music 1530
Carriers
1107 1143 1188 1197 1206 1215 1467 1476 1485 1494 1512 1539 1548 1584
