Well, it wasn't quite as bad this morning as Colin postulated...there
was a bit of sunrise enhancement around 1545UT for example, but
nothing like yesterday morning, except for the splatter, and a host
of carriers. But...not quite like Bruce's report either. Note the
complete absence of Japanese audio, and even most "normal" carriers,
which makes me wonder about what was really going on with channels
such as 1269 and 1503 that are more likely to be Japanese
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):
1566 HLAZ...1547UT man in CC, pretty much the peak today
Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it
understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
1575 VoA? man and woman SE Asian language 1538UT
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be understood by a native speaker:
1593 CNR1 1547UT man in CC, ID'd 1542UT //6175 with a weaker signal
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be
guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in
talk or music) :
639 CNR1 woman talking, faded out of nowhere 1546UT, //1593 and
slightly delayed from it, only low band Asiatic today
738 Tahiti? man talking FF inflection 1345UT
1377 CNR1 man talking //1593 and very slightly delayed from it 1547UT
Strongish het, no or "near imaginary"audio (either undermodulated or
ravaged by splatter):
(deep breath...)
972 1053 1098 1134 1161 1188 1206 1251 1269 1314 1323 1359 1458
1467 1494 1503 1557
best wishes,
Nick
