The big signals, such as they were seemed to be in the 1230 - 1300UT
time frame per the signal strength recorder. Pity I didn't start
until 12:58...
But, as Bruce noted, there was a big signal (or two), just not many
other signals....
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):
1566 HLAZ woman in JJ 1259UT, mention of FEBC
1575 VoA phone interview of man by another man 1509UT, various
levels until 1530UT, when "welcome to the Voice of America in
Burmese" by man was readable, thought not at peak level by any means.
Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it
understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
1566 HLAZ man in CC 1345UT with opening announcements of CC program,
peaking about 1348UT; nearest to sunrise was a brief "peak" at
1507UT, at lower level than this.
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be understood by a native speaker:
774 JOUB weather broadcast 1301UT; also noted at lower level around 1528UT
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be
guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in
talk or music) :
594 JOAK pips man in JJ?? 1300UT
738 man talking 1259UT, woman w/FF inflection 1301UT
1593 CNR1 pips at 1500UT, CNR1 musical interlude, seemed //6135
Strongish het, no or "near imaginary"audio (either undermodulated or
ravaged by splatter):
1278 1422 1503
best wishes,
Nick
