Conditions continue to be below average here. TPs were mostly absent
from the lower part of the band today, except for a couple of marginal
signals from NHK stations.
The upper band showed a bit of life around sunrise, with somewhat OK
audio from a handful of Japanese stations. I think I had the same unid
station Dennis reported on 1575, which was probably one of the AFN outlets.
Good - most of it would have been understandable to a native speaker
1566 HLAZ, briefly good w/Chinese talk at 1516 1534-36 and 1540,
otherwise poor signal today
Fair - some of it was probably understandable to a native speaker
774 JOUB, time pips 1300, mostly faint-nil after that, but surfaced
for briefly with talk 1312
1287 JOHK, JJ talk briefly rising above the splatter 1521
1314 JOUF pop songs 1526, JJ talk 1529-1531
1422 JORF, JJ talk 1516-1525+ sometimes good enough to be
understandable (I think)
1503 JOUK, JJ talk sometimes at listenable level 1509-1514
1575 VOA faded up w/talk in SEA language 1521-26, otherwise weak at
best. 2 other carriers visible on SDR display 1525, one of which had
pop music, possibly AFN.
Poor - quite hopeless
747 JOIB, a few seconds of talk 1319
828 JOBB, faint talk and a few bars of music 1330
1242 weak talk 1520
1395 bits of music 1524
1557 pop music and Chinese talk 1521
