I completely understand what you're saying, but hearing FL even where you are doesn't require there to be
Au cx. I can hear WFTL-850 here around sunrise even when conditions are blah, although in your case, the
hour would indeed seem to preclude it.

Thanks, Russ. Neither do I, but FL
doesn't make sense in my case. It was early, well before
local sunset and cx weren't auroral. Not this week, just a
few times over the last month or two last spring.
Might bear watching...
