[IRCA] TP 27Oct, Victoria version

Very ho hum conditions overall, though every once in awhile, something would pop up. Some extreme minimalist working over of the recordings might yield more for a lot of effort. As Walt observed, some of the bigger guns stayed in well after 1500UT, so that's one positive point. Local sunrise is just before 1500UT right now

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

279 R. Rossii, man in RR 1415UT
1566 HLAZ woman in JJ, organ mx 1324UT "FEBC wa..." ID of sorts, best on N. Flag; similar level 1451UT w/man in CC, briefly

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

747 JOIB EE lessons 1426UT
774 JOUB EE lessons 1326UT
972 HLCA man and woman in KK briefly 1450UT; much of the time, MIA
1575 VoA sounded like EE lessons, very slow EE by man, SE Asian language by woman, 1323UT; had been a good ID on the hour 1300UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

594 JOAK man and woman natteriing in JJ 1430UT
828 JOBB EE lessons 1432UT, and various other times
1287 JOHR woman in JJ 1417UT briefly (the watchword of the morning, "briefly")

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) :

153 R. Rossii man in RR //279 1415UT
738 Tahiti? woman w/FF inflection to talk 1330UT
891 JOHK? oriental sounding pop mx 1452UT, male talk sounded JJ 1454UT
1053 KK jammer 1328UT

1116 not a sign of Walt's DU. I guess having Juan de Fuca Strait just down the road helps......

1323 CRI? various times w/woman in RR; stringed mx leading up to chimes and fanfare at 1400UT 1512 unID, snatches of male talk 1459UT, needed to null IBOC for even that. Didn't seem //774, and no pips on hour. Almost a DU EE sound to his voice.

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary"audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):

603 648 864 945 1134 1179 1206 1476 1503

best wishes,

Nick
