[IRCA] TP 25 Oct, Victoria version

Wasn't as spectacular this morning here, especially later. I did manage some band recording around 1600UT, and 945 and 1017 delivered weak audio just before the hour, but faded to nothing by 1600UT. It also seemed hotter before 1330UT than afterwards, at least for awhile. Unfortunately, wasn't running the SDR earlier.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

774 JOUB CC lesson 1353UT
1575 VoA presumably, though sounded like a sports broadcast at 1342UT in SE Asian language

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

639 CNR1 woman in CC then pips on hour 1400UT; //6030 earlier
828 JOBB, CC lesson 1348UT
891 HLKB? man in KK 1352UT, no sign of NHK2
972 HLCA man and woman in KK 1355UT
1053 KK jammer 1337UT
1098 CNR11 lady talking in forthright fashion //7350 1447UT, but someone else struggling to get in there too.
1287 JOHR man in JJ 1500UT
1566 HLAZ man in CC 1443UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

747 JOIB CC lesson 1357UT
945 woman in CC 1457UT //639 by 1459UT, and pair of CC pips offset by nearly a second at 1500UT
963 CRI woman in RR //1323 after oriental sounding plucked string, 1425UT
981 CNR1 woman in CC 1403UT; CNR news sounder between nx items
1017 CRI lively mx leading up to chimes and fanfare on hour 1458UT
1323 CRI pretty much identical to 1017 at 1458UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) :

603 HLSA pips at 1400UT
819 portentous instrumental mx 1341UT, likely N. Korea
837 mix of CC and JJ pips 1500UT
936 Anhui? CC pips at 1500UT
1134 man and woman talking, quite laid back, so Korea?
1251 unID CC pips very weak at 1500UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary"audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):

558 621 648 657 711 738 846 864 873 918 1008 1206

best wishes,

Nick
