[IRCA] Seattle TP report for October 18



Today's conditions were similar to yesterday in terms of signal strength. Overall TP reception was rather unexciting, but not as bad as some of the sessions earlier this week.

Most of the action didn't start until after 1400, with some stations peaking around 1420-35. There were still a few carriers hanging around at 1500. This was the first time I'd checked that late so I'm not sure if that's normal.

Good - much of it would be understandable by a native speaker

Fair - a few words and phrases would be understandable

890 KBBI, 1359, the usual jazz filler, legal ID & marine wx by woman mixing w/CJDC
972    KBS, 1408 KK talk, not as good as yesterday
981    CNR1, CC woman talking 1410 briefly cutting through CKNW splatter
1566    HLAZ, hymns 1339, then woman w/end of JJ pgm 1344
1575    VOA, woman in SEA language 1402 & 1410

Poor - incomprehensible
594    JOAK weak pips, faint talk 1400
828    JOBB time pips 1400
891    talk 1413 too weak to ID language
945    faint talk, CC-ish inflections 1413 during pause in KJR splash
1053     jammer
1287 JOHR, showing up late w/JJ male talk 1426-1432, just a carrier earlier
1323    faint woman talking 1433, RR-like inflections, undoubtedly CRI
