[IRCA] TP 2 Oct; Victoria version

Goodbye Asia, hello Australia....not particularly spectacularly, but I don't often get a perfectly clear "6-12 ABC Brisbane" ID either. Most of the other things were from going over the recording, and catching the quick fade ups.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

612 4QR...Murphy lost the ball here...talk with gentleman from Morgan Stanley, fading up to 1400UT with many mentions of ABC culminating with "6-12 ABC Brisbane" ID by woman and into fanfare and ABC news item about some Italian political shenanigans

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

774 3LO brief fade up 1356UT "it's time for the Nightline look at...." by woman, then man in DU EE, fading down as 612 faded up; also paralleled at 1402UT with lower signal levels. This had been in and out for previous hour at lower levels 1566 HLAZ the sole Asiatic slow talking JJ man, into piano interlude 1338UT, fading down through JJ s/off

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

567 unID, man in DU EE 1328 UT, not //774, likely NZ
747 4QS? woman mentioning ABC TV 1347UT; no parallels available

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) :

621 unID. Instrumental mx 1334UT...a bit avant garde sounding
828 3GI long slow notes //828 1413UT, brief fade up to this level
855 4QO/4QB pop mx //612 1411UT
891 man talking 1423 DU EE inflection not //612
909 likely Southern Star; woman talking 1403 DU EE inflection; at 1406 the laid back mx seemed the same as the Southern Star webstream, but that's always a difficult call with such music
1116 man and woman talking DU EE inflection 1403UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary"audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):

756 846 972 1242

best wishes,

Nick
