My experience indicates that what ever you can do to get that F/B up towards 30 dB will be helpful. Even a dB or two can make the difference between being able to copy an ID under a superpest. On the domestic regional channels here, once I get close to 30 dB F/B I can just forget about back end pests at night.

You may find it worthwhile to work on the K9AY termination somewhat.
