An odd morning. I listened live after 1320UT, but that apparently
was the end of the opening, as only HLAZ was heard. But going over
the recording yielded a spotlight Japanese opening at the bottom of
the band, so I'm glad that I didn't have the time to send in my first
impression this morning.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least
briefly):
none
reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a
native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
594 JOAK the kingpin this morning peaking sharply between 1310 and
1315UT, man and woman talking
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be
understood by a native speaker:
567 JOIK 1313UT woman talking JJ //594
738 Tahiti man in FF 1254-57UT was the only audio at this time;
cropped up 1317UT also
1566 HLAZ organ mx, man in JJ 1326UT; everything else long gone by now
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by
cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) :
531 JOQG woman talking 1313UT, brief fade up //594
612 man talking 1310UT, no clue as to language
585 JOPG a bit of a surprise 1307UT woman and man talking //567 and
594, about equal strength; the first JJ to show.
774 JOUB likely; sounded like the cadence of the weather reports at 1317UT
Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):
603 rough carrier, 1098
best wishes,
Nick
