[IRCA] TP 2 Apr; Victoria version

An interesting morning in that Korea through New Zealand was heard, often at the same time. The best Japanese was 747, the most northerly, yet a number of Australians were heard also. "Listened" from 1230 to 1350UT, though a fair bit of that was listening to a recording, and most of the stations were also audible during my live listening period from 1330 to 1350UT.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least
briefly):

1566 HLAZ man in JJ 1331, but had been fairly listenable a number of other times

reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a
native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

747 JOIB EE lessons 1330UT; the star NHK2 this morning
891 5AN woman w/ weather reports for Australian cities, followed by local forecast for Adelaide 1335UT. Nice and warm down there. This was reasonably consistent at lower strength from 1230UT onwards.

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be
understood by a native speaker:

612 4QR two men talking DU EE //702 at 1326UT
702 2BL two men talking //612 1326UT
738 Tahiti woman in FF talk 1303UT
774 JOUB 1240UT EE lessons, but soon faded to DU EE sounding man, but no ABC parallels available at this time; JOUB returned by 1252UT
1053 KK jammer 1309UT
1116 4BC likely w/woman and man in DU EE 1304UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by
cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) :

567 R. NZ National woman talking //756 1319UT
756 R. NZ National, as above 1319UT
828 JOBB EE lessons //747 1252UT
1242 unID slow music 1333 UT
1287 2 men talking JJ inflection 1324UT, likely JOHR

Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):

594 1008 1098 1422

best wishes,

Nick
