[IRCA] TP 1 Apr; Victoria version

Very much an Asiatic, mostly Japanese, morning, though there were a couple of later mysteries that might have been DU. I was up earlier than usual this morning, and before 1300UT was certainly a good time to hear some of the big guns at reasonable strength.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least
briefly):

774 JOUB EE lessons "Heeere we go" etc, 1246UT; almost always there for the next hour, the last to leave, by then w/CC lessons. Snagged "JOUB" ID at 1320UT
972 HLCA woman in KK 1248UT; this one not as consistent as the NHK2 or HLAZ
1566 HLAZ woman in JJ 1349, also there for the next hour (even into the CC broadcast), heard several mentions of "FEBC" in passing. At 1344UT, the lady wished me "oyasumi nasai" (good night), then into canned full ID mention of FEBC, frequency, "H-L-A-zeto" etc.

reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a
native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

828 JOBB EE lessons //774 at 1246, also quite consistent, at or below this level; "JOBB" ID at 1320UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be
understood by a native speaker:

567 JOIK woman and man in JJ 1253UT, but orchestral mx not //891 was noted at 1322UT (though JOIK was there also //891 at that time) w/man talking)
594 JOAK man in JJ 1326UT //567
891 JOHK man in JJ at various times, fairly consistent at this level or below
1287 JOHR man in JJ 1333UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by
cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) :

621 unID woman talking 1338UT, soon gone
738 man talking, big carrier, 1327UT, but too much splash for language guess
747 JOIB weather observations //828 1319UT; big carrier, but bigger splatter
873 JOGB weather observations //828 1319UT
954 JOKR? woman talking JJ inflection 1325UT
1017 man talking 1333, no //
1332 faded up to end of a pop song 1348UT, but talk by man faded away rapidly
1503 JOUK man in JJ //594 at 1331UT

Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):

909 1008 1053 1098 1323

best wishes,

Nick
