[IRCA] TP DX for 25 March

I've been having a spring break outing at a rental house northwest of Olympia, and managed to put out a 300 foot DOG (dipole on ground) running sort of east-west. I might have been able to make it longer but didn't feel like crossing a deep ravine through the forest. The noise level here is much lower than at home. The house is on the south side of a cove, with a land path towards Asia, and a saltwater path towards Seattle. Needless to say, the locals are strong here with KGY-1240 leading the pack at -25 dBm (S9+50), and some Seattle stations as strong as they are at home.

I did manage a respectable TP session this morning at sunrise. The best signal was from Thailand - the one on 891, not the one on 1575, although the latter was also in well. Japanese signals were good at times, but most big guns like 747 and 774 were getting beaten up quite badly by domestic splatter and largely un-DXable. I was also able to copy Navtex messages from 3 Japanese stations on 518, with Naha providing the cleanest reception.

Here's the summary of what I heard:

Really great audio - mostly listenable by a native, if only for a brief period
594 - JOAK pIps 1400, NHK mention, then nx in JJ
890 KBBI ID and marine wx o/CJDC 1400

1575 VOA SE Asian talk 1350 briefly good

Somewhat OK audio - a few words understandable by a native
639 Chinese talk 1331, oddly enough I had weak NHK type pips at 1400 rather than the expected CNR pips
693 JOAB CC lessons 1357, pips 1400, then JJ talk
828 JOBB CC lessons 1350, pips 1400
972 Korea Fair-Good male KK 1328, weaker w/mx, fem talk, pips 1400
