[IRCA] TP 23 Mar; Victoria version

Still DU here, and pretty weak, but a fair number of loggings just the same. Some interesting peculiarities on the recording...read on. Might have been an interesting 15 minutes on the coast.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least
briefly):

nope

reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a
native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

612 4QR in at various times from 1340UT to after 1400UT, but at this level at 1344UT, then again at 1400UT with ABC news quite readable, though not strong.

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be
understood by a native speaker:

567 R. NZ National. Choral mx (Christian?) 1343UT w/ some talk by man, turned out to be //819 at 1355UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by
cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) :

594 unID. Excited man sounding vaguely Hispanic (Philippines??). Sports broadcast? Certainly sounded like a "goooooal" was scored at 1350UT, yet moments later.... 594 3WV at 1351UT folky male vocal //612, but delayed by 40 seconds (the wonders of playing back a recording).
702 woman talking 1350UT, not //612.
738 man talking 1343UT, could be FF, but too much splat to tell
774 3LO male pop mx 1353UT //594, only snagged on recording
819 R.NZ National. choral mx //567 1351-1356UT
828 woman talking, both it and 612 were too weak too tell if //.
891 unID. laid back male vocal 1352UT, vaguely folky, followed by woman talking, DU EE inflection,no parallels that I could find
1116 4BC likely, man talking DU EE inflection 1358UT

Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):

1098 1566

best wishes,

Nick
