[IRCA] Discussion Of Daily Solar Space And Geomagnetic Weather

DISCUSSION OF DAILY SOLAR SPACE AND GEOMAGNETIC WEATHER-

For Friday February 15, 2013
Solar activity is low as far as the emergence of the number of new sunspot groups. Currently there are 3 new un-numbered sunspot groups and 4 existing numbered sunspot groups.
Solar activity is low as far as the number of new solar flares, 4 occurred. The largest solar flare in magnitude was a very small in size B5.1, which occurred at approximately N19W70 and associated with sunspot group #11667.
The daily solar flux index (SFI) has been above 100 for 16 consecutive days, currently at 100.7.
The daily sunspot number (SSN) has languished below 100 for 31 consecutive days, currently (NOAA) at 59. That's an amazing statistic seeing that we are now at the peak of solar cycle 24.
The geomagnetic field has been quiet for one day with the Kp (planetary) index in the a 0-2 range. As collected by Potsdam Germany WDC the 3 hour Kp (planetary) intervals were unavailable. As collected by NOAA/SWPC the 3 hour Kp (planetary) intervals were 01111111. 

The Dst ranged between +2 and -15.

Via SOHO the maximum and minimum solar wind values were unavailable.

The maximum background x-ray value was B2.1.
