[IRCA] Discussion Of Daily Solar Space And Geomagnetic Weather

DISCUSSION OF DAILY SOLAR SPACE AND GEOMAGNETIC WEATHER-

For Friday February 08, 2013
Solar activity is moderate as far as the emergence of the number of new sunspot groups. Currently there are 5 new un-numbered sunspot groups and 4 existing numbered sunspot groups.
Solar activity is very low as far as the number of new solar flares, only 1 solar flare occurred. The largest solar flare in magnitude in the past 24 hour period was a very small size B4.7, associated with sunspot group #11670 which is located at approximately N13W63.
The daily solar flux index (SFI) has been above 100 for 9 consecutive days, currently at 104.3.
The daily sunspot number (SSN) has languished below 100 for 24 consecutive days, currently (NOAA) at 57.
The geomagnetic field has been quiet for 1 consecutive day with the Kp (planetary) index in the 0-2 range. As follows are the Potsdam WDC 3 hour Kp (planetary) intervals 12222211. 

The Dst ranged between +5 and -20.
