[IRCA] TP's for Sunday, December 09, 2012


Conditions down from yesterday morning.  Listened from 1355-1529 utc. HLAZ 1566 managed a good signal, but the others were fair at best with most being weak or lower in signal strength. Splatter this morning from domestic stations was up.  I did not DX last year on this date, so conditions must have been down too. Enjoyed Walt's report from the Cook Islands.

189    RUSSIA, Petropavlovsk, Radio Rossii 1436 weak signal on second scan of LW. Man in Russian. HPAW. 12/09/2012


209    ALASKA, Yakataga, CYT 1438 weak signal with weather forecast. HPAW. 12/09/2012 


279    RUSSIA, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Radio Rossii 1404 poor signal with Russian talk. 1440 strong signal low audio with man in Russian. HPAW 12/09/2012


738    TAHITI, Papeete, Radio Polynesie 1406 very weak signal with woman in French. Heavy splatter. W-SW ewe. 12/09/2012


774    JAPAN, Akita, JOUB NHK2 1444 fair signal with woman in Japanese. Moderate splatter. NW ewe. 12/09/2012


828    JAPAN, Osaka, JOBB NHK 2 1408 weak signal with heavy splatter and woman in Japanese. Fair signal at 1528. W-SW ewe. 12/09/2012


1323  CHINA, Huadian, 1324-1328 assuming the VOR transmission with weak audio slight splatter. NW ewe. 12/09/2012


1566  REPUBLIC OF KOREA, Cheju, HLAZ FEBC 1431 good signal with woman in Chinese. NW ewe. 12/09/2012


1575   THAILAND, Ban Phachi, VOA 1508-1512 weak signal with man/woman in Burmese (PALs) NW ewe. 12/09/2012


1593   CHINA, Changzhou CNR1 1506-1507 weak signal with man in Chinese. Moderate KOHI splatter. NW ewe. 12/09/2012
