A bit of a comedown after PEI; stronger domestics here, and weaker
DX, hi. 1300 to 1500UT, and the weak signals were primarily DU,
though 774 had NHK pips at 1400UT.
But, after sunrise, there were a lot of remaining carriers until
after 1600UT, with even snippets of audio on 972, and these all
appeared to be Asiatic: 954, 972, 1242, 1287 and 1323 for
examples. Maybe getting time to look for post-sunrise DX. (And
possibly there was sunset at the transmitter DX as well?)
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least
briefly):
none
reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a
native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
none
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be
understood by a native speaker:
612 likely 4QR w/woman talking in DU EE at 1447UT
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by
cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) :
702 woman talking 1352UT
738 rhythmic mx 1434UT
774 weak talk at 1348, NHK pips at 1400UT.
792 weak talk at 1349UT
891 woman talking 1431UT
1116 woman speaking rapidly made me think Asia rather than
Australia at 1451UT, but man talking later was DU sounding and
strongest carrier at 1115.9970 was likely to be 4BC, though quite a
dog's breakfast of carriers there.
1566 weak talk by woman 1430, few notes of a chime or mx box and
woman talking at 1454UT, CC sounding talk by man and woman after
1500UT, so likely HLAZ
Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):
594 828 936 1098 1179
best wishes,
Nick
