[IRCA] Puyallup, WA Ultralight TP's for 11-1

Hello All,

     Asian sunset skip during the 0900-1000 UTC period was unusually good this early morning, perhaps continuing the excellent SSS trend noted by KAZ and others last night. Several big gun TP's (594, 693, 747, 972, 1053 and 1566) came in with vibrant signals off and on, along with 558-JOCR. During this period 657-Pyongyang and 738-Taiwan both managed fair audio, and 1053 kHz had another TP on it besides the Jammer. 747-JOIB even had its best signal of the entire season during this bizarre early morning period, although an unusual foreign language program was being broadcast on NHK2 around 0940, with apparent Russian speech from both female and male announcers (MP3 link below).
     The Asiatic big guns were still at decent strength during quick checks of the band at 1320 and 1400 this morning, but  now (at 1450 UTC) the TP signals seem to have dropped off of a cliff. Overall the Asian sunset skip period again provided the best TP signals this morning, but the very inconvenient local time for such DXing (0200-0300) probably ensures that not too many west coast DXers will warm up to the idea. Except for Nick's reporting of the long-range TP's being received at good levels on PEI around this time during the current DXpedition, even I would probably have had the better sense to stay asleep.
